DITA presented highlights from its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which will debut in its stable of 11 global flagships, select high-end optical shops, and online at DITA.com. The collection began with a vested interest in studying the unconscious mind patterns and transcending the allure of familiarity. “Surpassing familiarity is a necessary discomfort for human development, yet first it must be understood” explains the design team. “We are attracted to what we know while intrigued but what we do not understand. This tension has been our sole focus for designing a collection that transforms archetypal models into vanguardian designs.”

DITA KAMIN & GRAND-EMPERIK Sunglasses

Ever evolving with forward momentum, DITA has remained ‘A Category of One’ focusing over 25 years on one thing – perfecting the art of eyewear. The evolution of archetypal shapes reveals the harmonious elevation of geometric simplicity, featuring bold sculpted lines most evident in KAMIN. This large acetate frame is designed to feel overbuilt and substantial, the negative lens space representing a strong force. The shape of the frame draws your eyes to strong cornerstones of the browline while simultaneously drawing your eye through the negative space of the lens – reaching outward to escape. Only finalized with the addition of a deadly beauty temple with spear tip and acetate colors representative of stone and glass, again reminiscent of quintessential materials for civilizations’ development

DITA GRAND-EMPERIK

Establishing another step forward for the future of DITA’s ICON frames, GRAND-EMPERIK boasts unmatched details through its large navigator shape with a three-piece hinge plate. Using a titanium temple rather than acetate compliments the colored enamel inlay while keeping the frame lightweight and extremely wearable. The intentional use of lightweight titanium effortlessly complements this oversized frame, the largest design by DITA in over 10 years. Further inspiration was drawn from the two-tone look of luxury watches, using enamel detailing to surround the front edge of the lens rim and temple, never before seen in the eyewear industry.

DITA SUBDROP

For the culmination of archetype evolution to vanguardian design, DITA presents SUBDROP. This oversized frame drips with bold design details–titanium diamond lines surrounding the oversized lens rim that extends purposefully over the frame edge. An editorial take on the feminine mystique, SUBDROP initiates the forward momentum found in the collection. Presenting as a shield, with implications of barely contained power, the frame speaks for itself and is available in two colors, extraordinary galactic cobalt, and timeless classic satin black.
