MODO Wins iF Award
MODO‘s R1000+ Titanium collection with their new Snap Hinge has won a coveted iF Design award for 2022.
The R1000 eyewear collection uses an innovative “Snap Hinge” system that surpasses current common hinge constructions, which are made up of several components. The snap hinge’s main function is to easily join the front of a pair of glasses to the temples through a very simple method – click, by pressure – without the use of screws or welding. The innovation of the snap hinge lies in its few components: a Beta-titanium temple with a specifically designed hook shape, a small metal cylinder inserted into the temple hook, and an ultra-performing polymer frame front.
Founded in 1953 as Die Gute Industrieform e.V., iF Design has since become a global symbol of excellent design – especially with hosting the annual iF DESIGN AWARD, one of the most prestigious design awards worldwide.
