Minimal components, forged from a single block of aerospace-grade titanium that is free of welds, lend the products an authentic high-tech identity. Inspired by aeronautical rivets, the micro-hinge is concealed behind the patented Loop connection. Invisible from the side and the front, it visually disappears on the face. The temples, as well as the hooks anchored to the bridge, add stability and comfort, transcending mere function to turn Vitra into a sculptural modern-design object.

The transparency of VitraCore™ is expressed through glossy surfaces that heighten the perception of lightness, or in matte finishes that add density and depth to the material. A Blackfin frame is the result of hundreds of processes; to some, these would just be the production process, but for Blackfin, each one is a little ritual.
