UNSUIKYO Unveils SCION

In a world filled with movement, UNSUIKYO’s SCION invites the wearer to slow down and reconnect with the stillness of the natural world. Each frame is a gentle reminder of the calm strength carried by the cedar, offering a moment of grounding in everyday life.
Crafted with precision in Japan, every SCION frame features unique metal textures inspired by cedar and decorative temple accents drawn from traditional samurai attire. The collection also introduces UNSUIKYO’s three-stage adjustable temple tips, offering a new level of customisable comfort while remaining true to the brand’s natural, quietly refined aesthetic.
A Dialogue Between Cedar and Craft
SCION captures the tactile poetry of cedar through metal temples, echoing the rugged lines and intricate textures of Jomonsugi’s bark. These patterns are paired with a Japanese design element inspired by the decorative pins once worn on a samurai’s ceremonial attire. Traditionally, these metal motifs symbolised one’s inner discipline and quiet resolve. In SCION, this element becomes a modern emblem of composure, an understated accent that honours the dignity and stillness embodied by the sacred tree.
Every detail is shaped with intention. Lightweight materials, thoughtful engineering, and UNSUIKYO’s new three-stage adjustable temple tips come together to create eyewear that feels as calm and natural as the inspiration itself.
Five Designs — Expressions of the Cedar’s Spirit

M1
Scion M1 – M1 reflects the grounded silhouette of an ancient cedar trunk. Its confident rectangle rims and textured temples evoke the deep grooves of aged bark, giving the frame a quiet, steady presence.

M2
Scion M2 – M2 mirrors the gentle curves of branching cedar limbs. Its rounded rims and wood-grain metal bridge create a soft, approachable expression, while the metal temples reference the natural lines of cedar bark. The M2_RS colourway stands out for its balanced tones and refined details, earning it the Japan Eyewear Award 2026 – Grand Prix.

M3
Scion M3 – M3 offers a relaxed, lightweight profile designed for easy everyday wear. Its subtle panto-inspired shape and finely etched temples echo the light movement of wind through cedar leaves. The combination of smooth lines and gentle textures gives M3 an effortless, calming character.

M4
Scion M4 – Designed with a wider fit, M4 echoes the anchoring strength of cedar roots. Its stable structure and engraved details convey depth and firmness, balanced by a quietly confident silhouette.

M5
Scion M5 – M5 draws inspiration from the cedar canopy in winter light. Its transparent, biodegradable frame echoes the clarity of sunlight through branches, with subtle snowflake-like textures for a gentle finish. Though it uses no natural materials, M5 carries nature in both shape and spirit, a gentle reminder of the grounded qualities within us.
SCION carries the quiet strength of Jomonsugi into modern life, eyewear shaped with Japanese craftsmanship and guided by a deep respect for nature. Each piece is more than a design; it is a gentle reminder of the calm, enduring qualities found in the natural world.
