World Sight Day to Put People at Its Heart

IAPB has launched the 2025 World Sight Day campaign, urging the eye health sector – and beyond – to #LoveYourEyes. Taking place on 9 October, the campaign kicks off today with a powerful invitation: help put people at the heart of eye health, making it a priority for individuals, communities, and governments worldwide.

Led by IAPB and building on the success of the last four years, the #LoveYourEyes campaign continues to remind everyone, everywhere to prioritise their own eye health, while calling for accessible, available, and affordable eye care for all.

This year, the campaign spotlights the power of people, putting stories, lived experiences, and community action at the heart of the movement. Focusing on:

  • Every Story Counts – an opportunity for sharing real-life eye health experiences that remind us that at the heart of every piece of data is a person.

  • The Global Challenge – bringing eye screenings to political leaders and policymakers, ensuring those in power see first-hand why eye health is important to global economic growth.

  • Encouraging everyone to #LoveYourEyes and get a sight test for World Sight Day.

  • The IAPB World Sight Day Photo Competition – celebrating 10 years of compelling visual storytelling, showing the world what it truly means to #LoveYourEyes.

“World Sight Day is more than one day; it is a movement that grows each year. The earlier you get involved, the greater the impact is,” said Simon Darvill, IAPB Director of Communications, Campaigns and Events. “We have comprehensive tools to help guide everyone’s plans and lots of campaign resources to help amplify your efforts. I invite everyone to be part of the sector’s biggest day for collective action and public engagement.”

World Sight Day is led by IAPB, championed by more than 250 IAPB member organisations globally and supported by IAPB Love Your Eyes Global Partners, including Abbvie, AMGEN, Bayer, CBM, CooperVision, Cure Blindness Project, The Fred Hollows Foundation, Hoya, Johnson & Johnson Vision, National Vision, Safilo, and Sightsavers.
