Opti-Munich – Eyewear variations
A recurring comment these past weeks from exhibitors and visitors after the return of optical shows has been the pleasure people felt in participating in a fair, and to see friends and business acquaintances again. The delight can continue this weekend, as Opti-Munich opens its doors – 13-15 May at the Munich Fairground. Diversified selections of quality exhibitors with innovative products herald the return of the German event, after the enforced hiatus due to the pandemic.
The prospect of moving forward is greeted with enthusiasm, and striking spectacle frames endeavor to bring glamour, fun, and creativity to the eyewear scene. Diversity in shapes, colors, materials, and detailing bring artful finesse to the collections. Here is a selection of what’s in store at Opti-Munich:
Multiple Silmo d’Or winner Jeremy Tarian embraces new freedoms with a sun collection that is all about play and enjoying life. Sunglasses transform summer fashions, plus providing stylish eye protection. Tarian’s Luxembourg is a powerful silhouette with laser detailing, crafted in the Jura region of France.

Suzy Glam in The Netherlands formulates smooth Bottle Green matt acetate into a stylishly curvaceous shape in Looks Lush. Smooth contoured forms are beautifully balanced with subtle bevel details in Suzy’s collections, which further amplify the contemporary elements of each design.

Sophistication, luxury, and chic are reflected in Birgitte Falvin’s frames for Falvin Eyewear creations. Her design creed comprises authenticity, minimalism, superb materials, and beautiful aesthetics. Developing more sustainability is an important project at Rolf Spectacles in Austria. Innovative material developments, like the bean plant Euphorubiaceae, is used for unique spectacles with high-tech components. The Bean frames received the prestigious Red Dot 2022 award in the Fashion Design Category.
