NW77th: New Metal Eyeglasses

NW77th-Metal-Eyewear-for-2023-696x603.jpg

This summer, NW77th was thrilled to release three new eyewear models, introducing the Mittens, Tanktop, and Faceplant eyeglasses to their family-owned brand. Each available in four colors, the three eyeglasses stay true to the distinctive style of NW77th, featuring several bold, bright hues and three newly designed color blends. As part of their Combination and Block Steel collections, this small release was handcrafted using a mix of surgical-grade stainless steel and biodegradable cellulose acetate, colored with rubber paint on the metal components for a long-lasting finish (the same paint used by Audi and Volkswagen).

From the Combination collection, Mittens features a rounded silhouette with a nearly straightened top rim, designed with a subtle upwards curve along the brow. This thin metal frame is adorned by a lustrous, semi-transparent acetate surrounding the rims and temple tips, giving the eyeglass the contemporary style that NW77th is known for.

Mittens

Along with a classic Tortoise, the Mittens eyeglass brings three new color blends to the NW77th brand: Confetti, Midnight Express, and Olive Black. The most playful of the new colors, Confetti mixes light shades of pink, yellow, and blue, designed with a solid bright-yellow temple tip. A moodier style, Midnight Express features an acetate blend of grey-blue and black with hints of contrasting orange, complemented by black metal components and orange temple tips. The most timeless of the color blends, Olive Black combines a black metal frame with a desaturated green acetate, contrasted by a dark red color split at the temple tip.

Tanktop

Also from the Combination collection, Tanktop pairs a rounded surgical-steel face with a thin acetate temple, ensuring a lightweight, comfortable fit. This thin-rimmed frame is available in four colors, Pink, Grey, Gold, and Aqua, each designed with a subtle color stripe along the brow. While the Pink and Grey colors were crafted with an opaque temple, the Gold and Aqua frames feature a crystal acetate to highlight the intricate pattern on the custom-designed wire core.

Faceplant

From the Block Steel collection, the Faceplant eyeglass was handcrafted almost entirely from surgical-grade stainless steel, paired with silicone nose pads and an acetate temple tip for all-day comfort. This thin, feminine frame features a cat eye silhouette that’s available in four colors: Gun, Blue, Gold, and White. Like the Mittens and Tanktop eyeglasses, each Faceplant eyeglass is designed with an acetate color split at the temple tips and a contrasting stripe of color along the brow.
