A new step forward for a better green consciousness: OKIA has been recently appointed with the ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), a globally leading certification system that offers solutions to address sustainability requirements for all feedstocks and markets.

Thanks to its RESHAPETM project to produce eyewear entirely made of 100% recycled PET material from plastic bottles, the HK-based company gives further input to its strong commitment to a more sustainable eyewear industry.

“OKIA sustainability is our key vision, we start to develop eco-materials years ago, and traceability of the entire supply chain is so vital. Now, our upcycled bottle collection RESHAPETM is produced by GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified material and manufactured in our GRS and ISCC certified production site in China” says Jacky Lam, Managing Director at OKIA.

The ISCC’s objectives are contributing to the implementation of environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable production and use of all kinds of biomass in global supply chains. This certification is also well applied by key players in the eyewear industry.

Now OKIA can further strengthen its supply chain with ISCC certification, which means using renew materials in the mass balance process.
