Euroinsights – Silmo Paris 2021 – Eyewear Reunion

The eyewear world eagerly anticipates Silmo’s 2021 edition that opens on 24th through 27th September at Paris Nord Villepinte. Designers, opticians, exhibitors, and visitors look forward to meeting in person again, with safety concerns in compliance with French health regulations connected to the pandemic. Over five hundred French and international designers and brands will convene in Paris to present their latest collections for Autumn/Winter 2021-22.

The Paris fair is a showcase for innovative, finely crafted, and stylish eyewear with sunglass designs; optical frames for men, women, and children; and active sports frames. Silmo creates a stage for new and inspiring eyewear collections, and impressive, unexpected inventory discoveries.

Among the new sleek designs by Thomas Lafont at Lafont Paris, are the bold, beautiful, and bi-colored Juillet sunglasses. The acetate frame, crafted in the Jura region of France, is highlighted with distinctive detailing on the top part of the design. Lafont will also launch new optical frames for men and women at Silmo.

The Italian maestro of eyewear – Luca Gnecchi Ruscone – savors his passions for Africa and eyewear with the Mirage Collection, with three new enchanting acetate shapes. The inside temples are as enticing as the outside: laser engraved symbols, visible through the light colors of the lenses, include running Giraffes and the L.G.R signature quote: “Handmade in Italy, Inspired by Africa.”

Tarian is also launching a powerful new campaign for autumn, with frames that are distinctive, handmade creations from the Jura region of France, which are beautiful, unique, and alluring.

Nathalie Blanc’s latest eyewear is highlighted with her campaign “Lazy, Crazy Night in my Palace” photographed at the luxurious Hotel Regina Louvre in Paris. The curvaceous frames unite a polished mix of vintage, Art Nouveau, and streamlined modernity. From the young adult collection Blanc, the George frame features Mazzucchelli acetate, and Elodie is composed of metal and lacquer.

Nature has always been the guiding inspiration for SALT. Optics, along with timeless, uncluttered styling that ensures the frames are easy to wear – and forever stylish – with subtle elegance. The Quinn frame in Redwood – a nod to the famed California tree – is crafted in quality acetate with rivet hinges.

Caroline Abram’s glamorous, feminine, contemporary frame Capucine captures the bi-color mood of the autumn season. The voluminous silhouette is graphically contoured, expressing character and boldness.

They have united with Neubau, the coveted Austrian label, with a streamlined collection of graphically sophisticated eyewear designs. The complete Neubau collections for men and women in sustainable materials will be presented at Silmo Paris.

Gamine New York highlights creative, minimalist geometrical shapes with an architectural spirit into galvanizing frames. Round shapes predominate with unexpected details and flourishes.
