Komono – Eco and recycled acetate
Komono introduces two ecological materials in the optical collection, with the aim to reduce waste and focus on sustainability
words Editorial Staff
Komono is taking a pioneering role in rendering innovative design and working with materials that have the lowest environmental impact possible. For these reasons the brand introduces two new ecologically responsible materials in the optical collection, eco-acetate and recycled acetate. On the one hand, eco-acetate is made of a very high percentage of natural components, it is recyclable and partially biodegradable.
Recycled acetate, on the other hand, is produced from acetate leftovers in the current production. These leftovers are melted and dyed with pigment to create a perfect black acetate. Thanks to this way Komono limits the resources and does something useful with materials that would otherwise turn to waste.
