What made me become "friends" with myopia!

01 Seeing Things Up Close

Prolonged nearsightedness is the most important cause of myopia, and prolonged nearsightedness includes prolonged periods of nearsightedness and working at close distances.

Students who read for long periods of time show a higher prevalence of myopia than those who read for short periods of time. The more time spent reading and working at close range, the faster the progression of myopia; the closer the reading distance, the faster the progression of myopia. This is an important factor in the development of myopia in students.

The human eye, as we know, does not need to adjust its force when looking at distant objects. But when looking at near objects, the convexity of the lens in the eye increases and expands, which increases the refractive power so that the object falls on the retina to be seen clearly.

For those who work at close range for a long time, the lens is always in an over-regulated state, which causes visual fatigue. Over a long period of time, the eye axis will be slowly elongated, which will cause myopia.

02 Nutrition and Dietary Habits

If we eat too sweet food, it depletes our body of vitamin B1, reduces the calcium in our body, and weakens the elasticity of our eye wall, leading to myopia.

In addition, lutein can ensure the normal physiological metabolism of the retina and cornea, so too little intake in our daily life will also lead to myopia.

03 Regional Differences and Socioeconomic Factors

Urban children have a significantly higher prevalence of myopia than rural children, which increases with age. Children living in rural areas can reduce their use of electronic devices and play more sports indoors. Also, the "20-20-20" rule of thumb can be used to reduce eye fatigue.
