Successful WOF 2016 with Great Boost in Oversea Visitors
The 14th Wenzhou Int’l Optics Fair, China (WOF 2016 for short) is ended with great success and fruitful result. According to the statistics from the organizer, the total dealing amount onsite reaches 110 million which is 10% increase compared with last session. During 3-day exhibition, over 14,160 professional buyers visit the fair including about 1,000 oversea visitors from India, Korea, US, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Japan, South Africa, Philippine, Italy, Canada and etc. The foreign visitor number is really a successful boost and exceeds last years, which is 22.15% increase compared with the previous year.
As a vital optical export trade platform and one of top 3 professional optics fairs in China, WOF 2016 occupies an exhibition area of 25,000 sqm which is expanded by 25% from last year. Over 400 exhibitors from Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Beijing, Shanghai, Canton, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Dongguan, Wuxi, Zhenjiang, Xingtai, Jiaxing, Taizhou and local Wenzhou appear in the fair with excellent exhibits covering finished glasses, equipments, raw materials, accessories, package, lens and etc.
On May 8, president from China Optometric and Optical Association, leaders from Wenzhou Government and professionals from global optical associations attend the Opening Ceremony and visit the fair afterwards. They give highly appreciation to the positive growth of WOF and the impression among both visitors and exhibitors onsite.
13-year’s development makes WOF much better and become a must-go event in optical field. Potential buyers from Luxottica, Safilo, Megakingdom, Essilor, Pioneo, Shanghai Maochang, Hangzhou Maoyuanchang, Hainan Jinggong, Shenzhen Doctor Glasses, Beijing Baodao and together with thousands of professional buyers attend the fair to make deal onsite and do business negotiation.
Meanwhile, WOF also wins high praise from exhibitors as well as visitors. President Zheng Zhiyuan from Wenzhou Guanhao Glasses Co., Ltd. shows his opinion when interviewed: “Our orders are all from exhibitions, especially Wenzhou Optics Fair.” Factory Manager Zheng Xijun of Wenzhou Huitong Luggage Factory says: “We have very few distribution channels. Wenzhou Optics Fair is one of the most effective ones. The order amount onsite takes 10% in our yearly turnover.” President Jimmy Wu from Wenzhou Optical Association tells us that: “This session, we can see an apparently growth in professional buyers, technological products and automized equipments.”

In addition, according to the visitor questionnaire, 83.4% of the visitors find their target products, in which, sunglasses, lens, frame, accessory, contact lens are the top 5 favorable products. 59.65% of the foreign visitors come to WOF for the first time and they also find the products they want. More than 81% of the visitors show satisfied with the fair and get unprecedented results.
Concurrently, The Second Member Meeting of 8th COOA is held in WOF with more than 100 professional purchasing managers. Student Design Display & Recruitment has its debut in WOF and intends to provide a display and communication platform for both companies and students. For oversea visitors, the activity of “3-day Free Hotel” is continued to be taken to provide better business experience.
Except for the successful WOF 2016, another big news is that WOF is listed in 2016 Important International Exhibitions in Wenzhou. Wenzhou exhibitors in the fair could apply for subsidy. Meanwhile, WOF also wins the title of Zhejiang Top 10 Brand Exhibitions. WOF never stops to be better and we believe “To Create the Optics Capital of the World” will really come true one day.
